ICANN, new domain names dangerous?

Posted by: admin (Feb 22)

ICANN L 'ICANN, an international non-profit for the management of various Internet services, is looking closely at the possibility of creating new rules for domain names. with the 'stated aim of providing new "Generic Top Level Domain (gTLD) similar to known file extensions. In future we should expect domains with extensions. Exe,. Xls,. Gif, etc..

The only problems could come from browsers. When saving a page, in fact, the browser may confuse the extensions of the domain with those of the files on your computer. But this is no longer an issue of ICANN, but the producers of the browser.

New gTLDs and new rules, but also new bans. L 'ICANN will prohibit the registration of domain names that begin with 0x and followed by hexadecimal characters. This thing, in fact, may cause troublesome and dangerous problems with the DNS server during the conversion of URLs to a text strings to IP addresses and vice versa.
