Sendmail - send a mail to all users

Posted by: admin (Nov 23)

Without resorting to software like MailMan or Majordomo, it is possible for a sysadmin to send an email (such as a notification of down for maintenance) to all users on the server with sendmail easily.

  1. Create a list of aliases of all users of the system:
    # Awk-F: '$ 3> 100 (print $ 1)' / etc / passwd> / etc / mail / ALLUSERS
  2. Include a list of all users in / etc / aliases:
ALLUSERS:: include: / etc / mail / ALLUSERS
  3. Run the command 'newaliases' or' make restart 'in the / etc / mail

At the end of these short steps you have to do is send a mail to ALLUSERS and all users of the server will receive your communication.

The study, conducted on a sample of about 600 employees in decisions, revealed that the failure, and total interest to some variants of Unix and Linux in mission-critical environments derives mainly from their non-proven security and reliability. ... From this point of view we can say that Linux is very secure. As for reliability, I believe still has some problems but is already making good progress "

I was just making a comment, you could make a plugin leaner? 30 Mb, so is the size of the plugin to download what has Sun? We want to distribute documents in ODF format for those not using ODF, make it easy, starting with a tiny plug. CyberTek to us we are sure that Sun has wrong.
